FedEx invests in VTOL aircraft cargo system

FedEx Express is partnering with Elroy Air to test its autonomous vertical takeoff and landing aircraft and cargo system, which the airline hopes to use to fly shipments between its various sortation facilities. “[FedEx was] built on innovation and we are always looking toward new technologies to help enhance the logistics industry through improved safety, efficiency and customer service,” said Joe Stephens, senior vice president of engineering and technology at FedEx Express.
