FedEx Resumes Priority Services in Ukraine, Maintains Suspension in Russia and Belarus

FedEx Corp has announced the resumption of its international priority shipping services to and from Ukraine, effective immediately, after a two-year hiatus prompted by geopolitical tensions. This reinstatement allows for both inbound and outbound priority parcels, marking a significant step in normalizing logistics operations in the region.

The global delivery giant had suspended its services in Ukraine, as well as in Belarus and Russia, following the onset of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia on February 24, 2022. While services to Ukraine are being restored, FedEx has confirmed that its operations in both Belarus and Russia will continue to remain suspended.

This move by FedEx contrasts with the stance of United Parcel Service (UPS), which continues to suspend all operations in Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia. The differing approaches by these leading logistics providers highlight the ongoing complexities and varying corporate strategies in response to geopolitical developments.

FedEx’s decision to resume services in Ukraine is indicative of its commitment to providing critical logistics support and connectivity for Ukrainian businesses and consumers amidst challenging conditions. This development is a positive signal for the region’s economic recovery and international trade relations, providing essential infrastructure for the movement of goods into and out of Ukraine.
