Fiji Airways Expands Fleet with Lease of Three New ATR72-600s
Fiji Airways (FJ) has secured a dry lease for three additional ATR72-600 aircraft from Nordic Aviation Capital. This expansion will enhance the airline’s regional connectivity, with the first two aircraft set to arrive in 2024 and the third expected in 2025.
These aircraft will be sourced from Nordic Aviation Capital’s existing order with ATR – Avions de Transport Régional. The addition of these turboprops will bolster Fiji Airways’ current fleet, which includes two ATR72-600s operated by its domestic arm, Fiji Link (FJA). These existing ATRs are used on flights within Fiji as well as to regional destinations such as Port Vila, Funafuti, Tongatapu, and Vava’u.
Fiji Airways’ main fleet features three A330-200s, one A330-300, four A350-900s, five Boeing 737-8s, and one 737-800. The airline does not currently lease aircraft from Nordic Aviation Capital.
