First Non-stop Flight from Aalborg to Barcelona
On Saturday June 24, the departure screens were once again updated at Aalborg Airport, when Norwegian had their first direct non-stop flight to the Catalan capital, Barcelona. True to tradition, the opening of the route included a cutting of the red ribbon, balloons and flags in the gate and cake for the many expectant travelers.
There was a good atmosphere on Saturday June 24 in Gate 6 at Aalborg Airport, where the many travelers were ready for the first trip to sunny holiday experiences in fantastic Barcelona. After photos with the crew in front of the plane, a few words from the CEO of Aalborg Airport and the cutting of the red ribbon, the red-nosed Norwegian plane headed for the popular Spanish city for the first time.
– An holiday favorite is once again available from Aalborg Airport, and now non-stop twice a week with Norwegian, which is an ideal airline to operate such a route, as they have extensive knowledge of both the Danish and Spanish markets. Barcelona is a city that has it all – everything from shopping and culture to the beach and good food experiences. Barcelona therefore attracts various gruops of people, where families with children can find pure relaxation on the beach and the hotel, friends can go on a football trip and couples can go on a romantic city break, CEO Niels Hemmingsen.
Another Spanish Holiday Destination from Aalborg Airport
With the newest route in the air, Norwegian now flies, in addition to Copenhagen, directly to Malaga, Mallorca, Alicante and Barcelona this summer. The travel opportunities are therefore great for going on holiday to Spain, which has always been high on the Danes’ wish list when planning new holiday experiences.
– Barcelona’s impressive cultural life and history is popular to Danes who appreciate excellent big city experiences. We are pleased to be able to offer a large selection of the most popular Spanish summer destinations from Aalborg Airport. This gives our customers ample opportunity to choose exactly the type of holiday they want. At the same time, the two weekly departures to both Barcelona and Mallorca, as well as five weekly departures to Malaga, provide great flexibility and the opportunity for both short and longer holiday stays, says Magnus Maursund, Chief Commercial Officer at Norwegian.
