FL Technics Indonesia, a prominent aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) service provider, has made significant strides in expanding its business operations and service capabilities in Indonesia.

Since the successful establishment of its first MRO hangar at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) in December 2016, the company is poised to further drive the development of the aviation industry ecosystem in Bali, Indonesia.

Martynas Grigas, Director of FL Technics Indonesia, affirmed their commitment to providing MRO services of international standards, emphasizing the importance of contributing to the transformation of Indonesia’s aviation sector. The construction of their second MRO facility represents an essential part of this vision.

The new MRO facility in Bali will occupy an impressive 14,013 m2 area and will specialize in comprehensive heavy maintenance check services for narrow-body fleets, including Airbus and Boeing aircraft. In addition to its increased hangar capacity, the facility will house a training center, logistics services, a Bonded Logistics Center (PLB), and other integrated services crucial for the aviation industry.

FL Technics Indonesia’s expansion into Bali underscores its continuous support for the post-pandemic growth of the domestic aviation sector. Martynas Grigas mentioned the strategic importance of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) as the second busiest international hub in Indonesia. The collaboration between PT Angkasa Pura Properti and FL Technics Indonesia (APP-FLT KSO) to establish the MRO facility in Bali is a significant step towards improving airline service standards in the region.

Following the anticipated completion of construction in July 2024, FL Technics will focus on obtaining certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), ensuring their services comply with global aviation authority standards.

Martynas Grigas concluded by emphasizing the vast potential in the aircraft maintenance market, highlighting the need to expand and enhance domestic MRO services to support and strengthen Indonesia’s aviation industry further. FL Technics Indonesia is a part of the Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest global ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance) provider, with a fleet comprising 197 aircraft.
