Fly91 Set to Commence Operations in India with Regional Focus

Fly91, an emerging airline in India, is gearing up for its debut in the aviation market with scheduled passenger services slated to begin in mid-March. This announcement comes on the heels of a successful publicity flight conducted on March 12, signaling the airline’s readiness to enter the competitive Indian airspace.

Starting March 18, Fly91 will launch its inaugural service connecting Goa Mopa and Bangalore International, followed by a Goa-Hyderabad International roundtrip on March 19. Initially, the airline plans to operate these routes with a frequency of three times a week, providing a new option for travelers seeking connectivity between these regions.

Manoj Chacko, the CEO of Fly91, expressed the airline’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity within India, emphasizing the importance of making air travel safe, accessible, and reliable. “We aim to be part of India’s ongoing economic transformation by creating robust regional connectivity, which is crucial to economic growth,” Chacko stated during the publicity flight event.

The airline’s launch has been made possible after receiving an air operator’s certificate (AOC) from India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation earlier this month, marking the culmination of four years of preparation by Chacko and his team. Fly91 has already welcomed two ATR72-600 aircraft into its fleet, with plans to significantly expand its operations. The first aircraft, VT-FIB (msn 1385), arrived in January, followed by the second, VT-FLY (msn 1364), both leased from VMAN Aero Services. Chacko’s ambitious growth strategy includes acquiring four additional ATR turboprops by September and continuing to expand the fleet by six aircraft annually over the next five years.

Fly91’s entry into the Indian aviation sector underscores the growing demand for regional air connectivity in the country. With its focus on last-mile connectivity, Fly91 aims to play a pivotal role in India’s economic development by facilitating more efficient travel options for both business and leisure travelers.
