FlyHouse Completes Acquisition of California Operator Sun Air Jets

US-based private aviation company FlyHouse has completed its acquisition of Sun Air Jets, a transaction first announced earlier this year that significantly expands FlyHouse’s operational scale and service capabilities in Southern California.

The deal gives FlyHouse full ownership of Sun Air Jets’ assets, operations, and workforce. This includes a substantially larger managed aircraft fleet, expanded hangar, ramp, and ground service infrastructure at both Van Nuys Airport and Camarillo Airport, two of the region’s most active business aviation hubs. The acquisition also brings a full-service fixed-base operation (FBO) at Camarillo under FlyHouse’s umbrella, strengthening its vertically integrated aviation platform.

In addition to physical infrastructure, FlyHouse gains Sun Air Jets’ FAA-approved FAA Part 145 repair station, enabling in-house maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities. This addition is expected to improve fleet availability, reduce third-party maintenance costs, and enhance quality control across the combined operation.

More than 100 Sun Air Jets employees are included in the transaction, providing FlyHouse with an experienced team of pilots, technicians, and operational staff. Retaining the workforce is seen as a key element of the integration strategy, ensuring continuity for existing charter clients while supporting future growth plans. The combined company will now manage a broader range of aircraft types and mission profiles, from short-haul regional flying to long-range charter operations.

In October, a FlyHouse spokesperson told ch-aviation that the company intends to consolidate operations by merging both firms’ FAA Part 135 certificates under Sun Air Jets’ existing certificate. This approach is designed to streamline regulatory oversight, standardise operating procedures, and improve scalability as FlyHouse continues to pursue acquisitions.

The company has signalled that this transaction is part of a wider consolidation strategy. According to FlyHouse, additional acquisitions are planned in the coming months as it seeks to build a national private aviation platform combining aircraft management, charter, maintenance, and ground services. The Southern California market, with its dense concentration of high-net-worth individuals and corporate flight activity, is viewed as a cornerstone of that expansion.

For Sun Air Jets clients, the acquisition provides access to a larger fleet, enhanced support services, and deeper operational resources, while maintaining continuity at Camarillo. For FlyHouse, the deal marks a significant step in transforming the company from a regional operator into a multi-base private aviation group with integrated infrastructure and maintenance capabilities.
