Flying Colours Expands MRO Services in Europe
Flying Colours Corp. is expanding its customer base into Europe having received increased interest from European business aircraft owners and operators for maintenance and refurbishment work.
Flying Colours will carry out work for its latest European customer in Q4 of this year, conducting maintenance, paint, interior upgrades and landing gear overhaul on the customer’s Bombardier Challenger 605 aircraft.
“The fact that we have all the services required to complete the work under one roof, technicians with thousands of hours of experience, and a state-of-the-art paint shop is a real draw for European owners,” said Eric Gillespie, Executive VP, Flying Colours Corp. “The strength of the UK and European currencies also make the trip across the pond financially worth it. The owner appreciates the value working with us brings to his operations in terms of capabilities and finances.”
Under the contract, Flying Colours will perform a 16-year, 192-month inspection and landing gear overhaul, as well as the 12, 24, 36, 48 and 96-month items while the aircraft is down, alongside any recommended Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives due.
Additionally, Flying Colours will collaborate with the aircraft owner to refresh the interior, with minor wood repairs, update divan coverings and a new carpet all in discussion. External spruces will include a full fuselage strip and painting. All maintenance, interior and exterior work will be performed in parallel to significantly reduce downtime and maximise budget, with the total work expected to take ten weeks.
“We’re currently in discussion with a further three European aircraft owners of large jet cabins and look forward to welcoming their airframes later this year,” added Gillespie. “Our presence at EBACE confirms that this region continues to be an important part of our business operations and we look forward to welcoming new and existing customers to our Booth F40 during the show.”
