Flynas, Saudi Arabia’s leading low-cost carrier, has confirmed its order for an additional 30 Airbus A320neo family aircraft. The announcement was made on Monday June 19 at the Paris Air Show by executives from Airbus and flynas.

The order includes 10 A321XLRs, which is the longest-range variant of the A320neo family and capable of flying up to 4,700 nautical miles. With the addition of the A321XLRs, flynas will be able to expand its network to new long-haul destinations across Asia, Africa, and Europe.

In addition, the order comprises 20 A320neos, which offer a 15% reduction in fuel consumption and emissions compared to previous-generation aircraft. These A320neos will join flynas’ existing fleet, which currently includes 21 A320neos, 13 A320ceos, and four A330-300s.

With this new order, flynas has increased its total firm order for the A320neo family to 120 aircraft. The airline initially placed an order for 60 A320neo family aircraft in 2017 and later converted 20 A320ceos to A320neos. The delivery of the new aircraft is scheduled to take place between 2018 and 2026.

Bander Almohanna, CEO of flynas, expressed that the A320neo family brings unmatched benefits to the airline’s passengers, operations, and environment. He further stated that flynas is delighted to confirm its latest order with Airbus and looks forward to strengthening its partnership with the aircraft manufacturer.

Christian Scherer, Chief Commercial Officer of Airbus, highlighted flynas as a loyal customer and a leader in the Saudi Arabian aviation market. He expressed pride in supporting flynas’ growth plans with Airbus’ innovative and efficient products.
