FlyOnE Acquires Rottnest Air-Taxi

FlyOnE Pty Ltd, trading as FlyOnE in Australia and based at Perth Jandakot, has completed the acquisition of Rottnest Air-Taxi, marking a significant milestone in its expansion strategy. The purchase includes Rottnest Air-Taxi’s air operator’s certificate (AOC) and its fleet, positioning FlyOnE to broaden its charter operations and optimize air transport services across the region.
In a media release issued on March 10, FlyOnE CEO Korum Ellis described the acquisition as a critical step toward enhancing the company’s service portfolio. “This purchase marks a pivotal moment in our growth strategy as we expand and optimize our air transport services,” Ellis stated. The acquisition reinforces FlyOnE’s commitment to providing reliable and efficient air-taxi services in a competitive market.
Rottnest Air-Taxi has long been recognized as a vital link between Perth and Rottnest Island, one of Western Australia’s most popular destinations. With its operations centered at Perth Jandakot, the small charter operator has built a strong reputation for offering convenient, flexible services that connect the mainland with the scenic beauty of Rottnest Island. By integrating Rottnest Air-Taxi into its operations, FlyOnE aims to maintain uninterrupted service for existing customers while also exploring opportunities for growth and technological upgrades.
FlyOnE successfully completed two capital raisings in 2024, which have provided the financial support necessary to pursue strategic acquisitions. Earlier in September, ch-aviation reported that FlyOnE intended to take over the operations of Rottnest Air-Taxi. Now, with the deal finalized, the company is focused on a seamless transition. The integration plan emphasizes continuity, ensuring that scheduled services between Perth and Rottnest Island are not disrupted. Ellis confirmed that the current team at Rottnest Air-Taxi will work closely with FlyOnE’s management to implement the transition smoothly.
According to Australian aircraft registry data, Rottnest Air-Taxi operates a fleet comprising four aircraft. The fleet includes two Cessna 172M models, registered as VH-WWL (msn 17267132) and VH-MVD (msn 17273660), and two Piper PA-32 aircraft, registered as VH-ALL (msn 32-3) and VH-JFC (msn 32-7100025). These aircraft are well-suited for short-haul flights between the mainland and Rottnest Island, ensuring efficient and timely service. FlyOnE plans to retain the existing fleet while investing in technological and operational upgrades aimed at enhancing safety, efficiency, and environmental performance.
The acquisition of Rottnest Air-Taxi is part of FlyOnE’s broader strategy to expand its air charter services across Australia. By adding a regional operator with a strong local presence, FlyOnE is expected to extend its market reach and strengthen its competitive position. In addition to maintaining uninterrupted services, the company plans to leverage its new capabilities to offer innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of its customers.
As FlyOnE continues to integrate Rottnest Air-Taxi into its portfolio, industry observers anticipate further developments in the company’s service offerings. The move not only enhances FlyOnE’s operational footprint in Western Australia but also sets the stage for potential expansion into other key markets across the country. With a clear focus on safety, efficiency, and environmental performance, FlyOnE is poised to lead the next phase of growth in the regional air-taxi market.
