FlyOne Expands Scheduled and Charter Flights Set to Take Off in Romania
In a strategic move, FlyOne (Romania) (OE, Chisinau) is gearing up to launch scheduled and charter operations from six key airports across Romania in 2024. This marks a significant shift for the airline, transitioning from its role as a technical capacity provider for its Moldovan counterpart, FlyOne (5F, Chisinau), to a standalone business unit with a broader operational scope.
The carrier has ambitious plans to connect Romanian travelers from major cities such as Bucharest Henri Coanda, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Suceava, Craiova, and Arad to a range of sought-after leisure destinations. These include Tenerife Sur, Gran Canaria, Kos Hippocrates, Heraklion, Antalya, Burgas, Larnaca, and Hurghada. The expansion is made possible through a strategic partnership with the leisure holding Memento Group and its Cristian Tour outfit.
Currently operating with a single A320-200 under its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC), FlyOne (Romania) is set to enhance its fleet by adding two A321-200s in the near future. While the airline has primarily functioned as a technical capacity provider for FlyOne in Moldova, which operates two additional A320-200s and engages in third-party ACMI contracts (including a recent one with SkyUp MT (U5, Malta International)), this move solidifies FlyOne (Romania) as a distinct entity in the aviation landscape.
The FlyOne group, encompassing FlyOne (Armenia) (3F, Yerevan) with one A319-100 and two more A320-200s, is strategically positioning itself for growth and diversification. The upcoming expansion into the Romanian market not only marks a significant milestone for FlyOne but also presents exciting new travel opportunities for passengers across the region. Stay tuned as FlyOne takes flight into a new era of expanded services and connectivity.
