FlySafair and Menzies Aviation expand partnership across South Africa
Menzies Aviation has expanded its partnership with South African low-fare carrier, FlySafair, from one to seven airports.
The five-year agreement will see Menzies Aviation provide passenger and ramp services to O.R. Tambo International Airport, Cape Town International Airport, King Shaka International Airport, King Phalo Airport, Dawid Stuurman International Airport and George Airport. This agreement will build on an existing relationship at Bram Fischer International Airport (BFN).
As the biggest domestic carrier in South Africa, FlySafair is expected to receive more aircraft in 2023, and currently operates a fleet of Boeing 737-400s and 737-800 NGs.
This contract win not only strengthens Menzies Aviation’s position in the area, but as the largest aviation services company on the African continent following the five-year renewal of its ground handling license with Airports Company South Africa SOC Limited (ACSA).
On the partnership expansion, Charles Wyley, Executive Vice President, Middle East, Africa & Asia, Menzies Aviation, said: “We’re delighted to provide ground services to FlySafair at more airports across South Africa. We began working with the airline at Bloemfontein last year and this latest win is a major milestone for our team as it reflects the high standard and service they consistently provide to our airline customers. We look forward to building our relationship with FlySafair and supporting them as they continue to grow.”
