FlyUSA, based at Tampa International Airport, has acquired TRYP Air Charter and its affiliated firm MySky Aviation Solutions, significantly expanding its presence in Florida’s private aviation market.

With the acquisition, FlyUSA becomes the largest operator of combined turboprop and light jet aircraft in Florida, according to CEO and co-founder Barry Shevlin. TRYP currently holds a Part 135 certificate covering four Pilatus PC-12s, which will eventually be transferred to FlyUSA’s certificate, though no definitive timeline has been set.

FlyUSA’s total managed fleet now includes 28 aircraft, while its active charter fleet has expanded to 12 aircraft. The fleet includes one PC-12, a Citation Bravo, four Citation Ultras, and two Hawker 800XPis. Shevlin also confirmed that three additional PC-12s are expected to join the charter fleet by the end of 2025.

The deal also involves the acquisition of MySky, a charter brokerage and aircraft management company. MySky founder and TRYP CEO Elliot Mintzer will join FlyUSA to lead its turboprop operations. Mintzer emphasized the strategic benefits for existing clients, particularly in the Southeastern U.S. and the Bahamas, where both companies have a strong presence.

The acquisition aligns with FlyUSA’s growth strategy in the on-demand charter and aircraft management sectors, positioning the company for further expansion in key regional markets.

FlyUSA continues to evaluate additional aircraft types and service offerings to enhance its competitive footprint across the U.S. private aviation landscape.
