The renowned Four Seasons brand is set to make a grand return to Shanghai with the launch of the new Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai, slated to open its doors in 2027. This development, in partnership with Fungseng Prosperity Holdings Limited, represents a significant milestone in the luxury hospitality sector in one of China’s most vibrant and important travel markets.

Situated in the bustling Huangpu district of Puxi, along the iconic Huaihai Zhong Road, the Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai promises to be a centerpiece in the city’s shopping, dining, and entertainment district. The hotel will stand 44 stories high, featuring 160 luxuriously appointed rooms and suites, each designed to reflect the city’s unique blend of modern creativity and rich Art Deco heritage.

Bart Carnahan, President of Global Business Development, Portfolio Management and Residential at Four Seasons, highlights the strategic importance of Shanghai as a key market for luxury travelers and expresses enthusiasm for this new chapter in China. The partnership with Fungseng Prosperity Holdings Limited underscores a shared commitment to providing exceptional service and experiences in this world-class city.

Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai is designed to offer an immersive local experience, featuring beautifully conserved Shikumen lane houses at its base. These traditional Chinese dwellings, with their high brick walls and elaborate gateways, provide a serene counterpoint to the energetic cityscape of Shanghai.

The hotel will introduce five new culinary concepts, adding to Four Seasons’ impressive collection of dining experiences. These include a signature Shanghai seafood restaurant and a vibrant Italian trattoria, among others, each designed to cater to discerning tastes and complement the city’s dynamic food scene.

In addition to its culinary offerings, Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai will boast extensive meeting and event spaces, and comprehensive wellness facilities. These include a well-appointed gym and spa, and a resort-style outdoor heated pool, ensuring that both leisure and business travelers, as well as local residents, enjoy unparalleled experiences.

As part of Four Seasons’ expanding presence in China, which includes the recently opened Four Seasons Hotel Suzhou and upcoming properties in Dalian, Hangzhou, and Xi’an, the Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai is poised to redefine luxury hospitality in this bustling metropolis.
