Frontier Airlines is expanding its U.S. domestic network this fall with the addition of 15 new routes, two new cities, and a return to Tulsa, Oklahoma, as part of its broader transformation strategy. The Denver-based ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) is working to evolve its business model by enhancing its product offering, including the upcoming launch of a first-class cabin designed in partnership with Italian seat manufacturer Geven. The airline is also evaluating new onboard amenities such as Wi-Fi and enhanced loyalty rewards.

Starting in October 2025, Frontier will begin nonstop service from two new destinations—Corpus Christi, Texas, and Richmond, Virginia—while resuming operations in Tulsa, last served in 2022. The 15 new routes span a mix of high-demand and underserved city pairs, including some previously discontinued sectors such as Kansas City–Tampa and Phoenix–San Antonio, which were last operated in 2018. Denver–Tulsa and St. Louis–Tampa are also being restored after being dropped in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

  • St. Louis (STL) – Tampa (TPA): Weekly from Oct. 11 (competing with Southwest)

These additions bring Frontier’s total scheduled nonstop routes to 376 in July 2025, a slight increase from the 373 operated in the same month last year. However, overall seat capacity is projected to decline to 24.9 million seats, down from 27.2 million in summer 2024, reflecting a more strategic, disciplined approach to network planning.

Meanwhile, competitor Spirit Airlines is also expanding, launching new service to Key West, Florida. Beginning November 4, Spirit will operate four weekly flights from Fort Lauderdale, increasing to daily service by December 18. The announcement follows the May opening of Key West International Airport’s new Concourse A, part of a $130 million terminal upgrade. Spirit exited Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March and rejected a renewed merger offer from Frontier, choosing instead to continue as an independent carrier with a restructured strategy.
