Frontier Airlines, a leading U.S. ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC), has announced an expansion of its network with a series of new routes set to begin in May. This strategic move aims to enhance connectivity between smaller airports and major markets, offering travelers more affordable and flexible options.

The expansion will see Frontier initiating flights from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to several mid-size markets, including Grand Rapids, Michigan; Islip and Syracuse, New York; and Norfolk, Virginia. Each of these routes will operate three times weekly, starting on May 16 and 17.

In addition to the ATL expansion, Frontier is set to launch services from Chicago O’Hare International Airport to Nashville, Tennessee; Portland, Maine; and Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), with frequencies ranging from three to four times weekly on these routes.

Moreover, Frontier will introduce new connections from IAH to Ontario International Airport (ONT) in California with four weekly flights, along with a daily service between ONT and Seattle and four weekly flights between ONT and El Paso International Airport (ELP) in Texas. The airline will also connect ELP with San Diego three times a week.

From Missoula, Montana, Frontier will offer four weekly flights to its Denver base starting May 2 and bi-weekly flights to Phoenix beginning May 3. New services from New Orleans to Indianapolis and Columbus, Ohio, will commence on May 21 and 22, respectively, each with three weekly flights.

Further expanding its reach, Frontier will introduce a weekly service from Orlando to St. Croix in the Caribbean starting May 25 and a three times weekly service between Portland, Oregon, and Salt Lake City, Utah, from May 16.

Josh Flyr, Frontier’s Vice President for Network and Operations Design, expressed enthusiasm for the airline’s route expansion, highlighting the company’s commitment to addressing the needs of underserved and overpriced markets. This initiative is part of Frontier’s ongoing efforts to provide affordable travel options and enhance its route map as the industry heads into the spring travel season.

As an all-Airbus A320 family operator, Frontier Airlines continues to leverage its efficient fleet to offer competitive fares and reliable service across its expanding network, further cementing its position as a key player in the ultra-low-cost carrier sector in the United States.
