Get to Know Mexico’s Newest Resorts
This 2022 was a very active year of opening new resorts in Mexico, and more have already been announced for 2023.
Here’s a look at some of the most recent openings and others to come.
Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun
This all-inclusive luxury resort, which opens this December, focuses on families and includes fun amenities such as sizeable on-site water parks and a kids club, a unique dining offering, and a world-class spa with relaxing hydrotherapy tubs and massage therapies.
The water park has 14 giant slides, two lazy rivers, spray grounds, and splash pads. In addition, the kids club includes amenities such as an open-air theater where performances are held, as well as activities such as beach volleyball and soccer, bowling, trampoline park, water slides, ping pong, cooking classes, and Aquatic Olympic competitions, among many others.
Margaritaville St. Somewhere by Karisma Punta Coco, Resort Holbox Island
Located in the Caribbean paradise of Holbox Island, this resort offers luxurious accommodations with boutique service and personalized attention in 39 exclusive suites and two outdoor restaurants. One is the Sand Bar & Pan American Grill, featuring seafood and ceviches. The other is The Harbor House Peninsular Cuisine & Wood Stove, which features a menu of pizza and bruschetta options, among others, and a bar serving signature cocktails.
Activities at this resort include deep-sea fishing, swimming with the amazing whale shark, birdwatching, and cooking classes. In addition, from the resort, guests can take exciting tours to the flamingo reserve of Pájaros Island and Yum Balam, a natural reserve of exotic birds.
Paradisus Playa Mujeres
This is the fourth Paradisus resort to open in the Mexican Caribbean. It offers luxury accommodations in large suites designed with traditional Mexican motifs, overlooking lush gardens, the fabulous white sandy beach, and the resort’s marina. Its gastronomic offer includes many restaurant options such as Flora, which offers fine dining; another one is Malva- Food Bazar, which offers market-style food and Asian cuisine in Tokimeki, among others.
Guests can also have fun on the superb Greg Norman-designed golf course and relax in YHI Spa, which offers personalized wellness treatments, massages, and healing therapies to recover the balance between body, mind, and spirit as a great diversity of gym equipment of the new generation. Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya All-Inclusive
Set in a private bay, this resort overlooks the finest white sandy beaches of the Tulum area. It also offers luxurious facilities including 735 suites decorated in Mexican style, as well as 13 restaurants and bars with a culinary offering ranging from Mexican, Italian, Asian, steakhouse and seafood cuisine, primarily.
