Global Airlines Dismisses Rumors, Reaffirms Strategy

Startup airline Global Airlines has issued a strong response to recent speculation about its future, calling reports of a strategic pivot and outside investment “complete rubbish.” The UK-based company, led by entrepreneur James Asquith, released a statement on June 3, 2025, refuting claims that it is shifting toward aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI) operations or accepting funds from a Saudi Arabian investor.
The airline said it remains committed to becoming a full-service scheduled airline and has no plans to alter its strategy. “We still have our eye on the ultimate goal of becoming a scheduled airline,” the company said, while acknowledging that the path ahead involves numerous challenges. It added that a forthcoming “MythBusters” guide will help dispel misinformation.
Global Airlines also addressed criticism regarding the low load factor on its first commercial transatlantic flight on May 15. The airline clarified that the flight was never intended to operate at full capacity. Instead, it was designed to test products and services, particularly in the premium cabin, and invited passengers primarily from the aviation community.
The statement further confirmed that the airline is in talks with various organizations for funding but stressed that nothing has been finalized. In response to the rumors, Global Airlines said it would adopt a more cautious communications strategy moving forward. “We only want to say it once we know it for sure,” the airline stated, urging supporters to remain patient as it advances toward its long-term goals.
