July proved to be another challenging month for airlines worldwide, with global flight cancellations rising to 58,239, marking a 5% increase compared to May. North America experienced the sharpest impact, with cancellations jumping 42%, followed by Europe with a 30% increase and Latin America with 21%. In contrast, the Middle East and Africa achieved a notable operational success, reducing cancellations by an impressive 70%, while Asia-Pacific posted a modest 2% decline.

Among global leaders, Latin American and Middle Eastern carriers set the pace. Aeromexico claimed the top spot worldwide with an on-time performance (OTP) of 89.81%, while Azul, Saudia, Qatar Airways, and LATAM Airlines also ranked high. In North America, Delta Air Lines reclaimed the regional lead, posting an OTP of 76.97%.

Asia-Pacific saw IndiGo rise to the top after improving its OTP by nearly six points, while in Europe, Icelandair retained its leadership despite a drop of more than four points. Latin America’s Copa Airlines returned to first place with a strong OTP of 90.11%, and in the Middle East and Africa, Royal Jordanian emerged as the new leader after an impressive improvement of nearly 12 points.

The contrasting performance highlights ongoing operational pressures in major markets like North America and Europe, while regions such as the Middle East and Latin America continue to demonstrate resilience. These shifts reinforce the importance of punctuality as airlines compete to regain passenger confidence amid fluctuating global travel conditions.
