Cruise travelers to Grand Bahama will soon have a major new attraction, as Concord Wilshire Capital has acquired the Grand Lucayan Resort for $120 million with plans for a massive $827 million redevelopment. The Miami-based developer will transform more than half of the 56-acre beachfront property into a vibrant destination tailored to cruise passengers.

Scheduled for completion in early 2028, the project will feature a waterpark and beach zone with live music, a 350-room hotel, a 25,000-square-foot casino, and a golf course. The redesigned resort aims to serve as a premier shore excursion option for cruise guests across all cruise lines, while also being accessible to non-cruisers through a general admission fee.

Concord Wilshire is collaborating with cruise line partners to incorporate guest preferences into the design and amenities. The redevelopment will also integrate the nearby Port Lucaya Marketplace into the overall guest experience, enhancing the appeal of Grand Bahama as a dynamic port destination for years to come.
