Hyatt Hotels Corporation has proudly announced the opening of Grand Hyatt Barcelona, marking the introduction of the first urban Grand Hyatt hotel in Spain and expanding the brand’s presence to five locations across Europe. Nestled in the prestigious Alta Barcelona neighborhood, this property is positioned as a beacon of luxury in one of Spain’s most visited cities.

The Grand Hyatt Barcelona features 465 guestrooms, including 49 signature suites and an exclusive penthouse, all adorned with Art Deco-inspired designs that blend classic elegance with modern luxury. The hotel’s strategic location offers guests panoramic views of the cityscape and easy access to local attractions.

Dining at Grand Hyatt Barcelona is an eclectic experience with four distinct venues. Maymanta, located on the 19th-floor rooftop, offers a Peruvian culinary adventure with breathtaking views of Barcelona. Sofia Bar & Tapas presents a fusion of Mediterranean cuisine and traditional tapas, complemented by innovative cocktails on a private terrace. For a more casual setting, Philosophia provides a selection of coffee, pastries, and light meals on an open-air terrace that overlooks Avenida Diagonal.

The culinary offerings will be further enhanced later this year with the opening of Leña, a steakhouse helmed by Michelin-starred Chef Dani Garcia, promising a top-tier dining experience.

Wellness enthusiasts will appreciate the expansive Oasis Spa by Natura Bissé, which features an 807-square-foot pool with a waterfall, a Turkish steam bath, a sauna, and private cabins for personalized treatments. An exclusive cabin area also offers a private hot tub, Turkish bath, and sauna for a secluded relaxation experience.

Additional amenities at Grand Hyatt Barcelona include an outdoor pool with a sun terrace, pool bar, restaurant, and extensive meeting and event spaces spanning over 35,000 square feet. These facilities are designed to cater to both leisure and business travelers.

Franck Sibille, Area Vice President & General Manager of Grand Hyatt Barcelona, emphasized the unique appeal of the property, stating, “Grand Hyatt Barcelona is another charismatic example of the iconic Grand Hyatt brand, offering a captivating accommodation set against impressive architecture and bold design. We are delighted to welcome guests seeking immersive experiences in the pulse of the local Spanish culture and we are proud of the dynamic and unexpected getaway that we have created.”

Javier Águila, Group President, EAME, Hyatt, also commented on the significance of this opening: “Grand Hyatt Barcelona celebrates Hyatt’s dedication to unparalleled luxury and exceptional experiences. An iconic and emblematic landmark in Barcelona, the hotel embraces the lavish style of the Grand Hyatt brand, coupled with a captivating experience.”

This new opening not only reinforces Hyatt’s commitment to expanding its luxury offerings in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East but also solidifies its position in Spain, where it operates 50 properties across eight different brands. The Grand Hyatt Barcelona is set to become a landmark destination for travelers seeking luxury and exclusivity in the heart of one of Europe’s most vibrant cities.
