SKY Express (Greece) (GQ, Heraklion) has signed an order with Avions de Transport Régional for the acquisition of six ATR72-600s, including one unit of the type already delivered to the carrier on June 30, 2021.

The remaining five turboprops will progressively deliver to Greece by the end of the year.

“Following the addition of the six new A320-200s that are already crossing Greek and international skies, our ATRs will support the Greek tourism industry and help reboot the Greek economy, always showing due respect to our passengers and the environment, reaching every single region of our country,” Chief Executive of parent holding IOGR Group, Ioannis Grylos, said.

The carrier’s first ATR72-600, SX-ELV (msn 1643), began revenue operations on July 3, 2021. The aircraft is based out of Athens Int’l and deployed on routes to various Greek islands and Ioannina on the mainland, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows.

SKY Express’s fleet also comprises six A320-200Ns, five ATR42-500s, and five ATR72-500s.
