Gulfstream Unveils Exciting Enhancements for Its Flagship G700 Jet
Gulfstream Aerospace, a leading manufacturer of business jets, has announced several enhancements to its flagship G700, which is expected to be the most advanced and spacious ultra-long-range twinjet in the market. The enhancements include increased range, speed, and passenger comfort, as well as new cabin features and options.
The G700, which was unveiled in 2019, will now have a maximum range of 8,630 nautical miles at Mach 0.85, or 7,300 nautical miles at Mach 0.90, an increase of 200 nautical miles from the original specifications. This means that the jet will be able to fly nonstop from New York to Hong Kong, or from Los Angeles to Sydney, at faster speeds and with greater fuel efficiency.
The G700 will also feature a new high-speed cruise option of Mach 0.925, which will allow it to fly at near the speed of sound, making it one of the fastest civil aircraft in the world. The jet will be powered by two Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, which will provide more thrust and lower emissions than previous models.
The Gulfstream G700 will also offer enhanced passenger comfort and well-being, with the largest cabin in its class, measuring 56 feet 11 inches long, 8 feet 2 inches wide, and 6 feet 3 inches high. The cabin will have up to five living areas, including a master suite with a shower, a lounge with a six-place dining table, and a media room with a 4K monitor. The cabin will also have 20 panoramic windows, the industry’s lowest cabin altitude, 100% fresh air, and a circadian lighting system.
The G700 will also introduce new cabin features and options, such as an ultra-high-definition circadian lighting system that mimics sunrise and sunset, a speakerless surround sound system that delivers immersive audio throughout the cabin, and a wireless cabin management system that allows passengers to control their environment and entertainment from their personal devices.
The business jet is currently undergoing flight testing and certification, with eight test aircraft flying more than 1,800 hours and reaching more than 80% of the required test points. The jet is expected to receive certification and enter into service in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Gulfstream says that the G700 will set a new standard for performance, innovation, and luxury in the ultra-long-range segment. The company has already received orders for the jet from several customers, including Qatar Airways Executive, Flexjet, and Kuwait Airways.
