Carnival Cruise Line has proudly announced that Gwen Stefani, the acclaimed global music superstar, will be named the godmother of its latest flagship, the Carnival Jubilee, in a special ceremony scheduled for February 24, 2024, in Galveston, Texas. Stefani, a three-time Grammy Award-winning artist known for her dynamic presence both as the lead vocalist of No Doubt and as a successful solo performer, will bring her star power to this significant role.

With a career that has seen her evolve into a music and fashion icon, Stefani has amassed numerous accolades, including four MTV Video Music Awards, two Billboard Awards, an American Music Award, and a Brit Award. Her influence extends beyond music into television, where she has made a mark as a beloved coach on NBC’s ‘The Voice’. Beyond her entertainment career, Stefani is recognized for her philanthropic efforts, especially her dedication to children’s causes.

Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, expressed excitement about Stefani’s upcoming role, highlighting her alignment with Carnival’s core values of diversity, inclusion, and support for charitable causes. “We are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Gwen Stefani onto Carnival Jubilee so we can honor her as the ship’s godmother,” said Duffy. “We are going to show her an enthusiastic welcome in only the way Carnival can.”

Stefani shared her gratitude for the honor, emphasizing Carnival’s commitment to fun, children’s causes, and support for military families and veterans. “I am honored to be the godmother of the new Carnival Jubilee,” Stefani remarked.

The Carnival Jubilee is the third ship in Carnival’s Excel class and began its service on December 23, 2023. It operates year-round from the Port of Galveston and is notable for its use of environmentally friendly liquefied natural gas (LNG) technology. The ship boasts a capacity of 6500 guests and 1750 crew members, promising an unparalleled cruising experience.

Fans and enthusiasts won’t have to miss out on the festivities, as a portion of the naming ceremony—an exclusive event aboard the ship—will be broadcast live on Carnival’s Facebook page, starting at 3:30 p.m. CST on February 24. This event not only marks a milestone for Carnival Cruise Line but also celebrates the intersection of music, culture, and cruising with Gwen Stefani’s esteemed induction as godmother of the Carnival Jubilee.
