Hawaii tourism sees uptick

Hawaiian travel is slowly returning, as the state screened a pandemic high number of air passengers recently and nearly 30,000 Spring Break visitors arrived over a three-day span. In positioning itself for the recovery, Hawaiian Airlines chose to expand to Orlando, Fla, and Austin, Texas, because they were two of the largest markets without nonstop flights to the islands, said Brent Overbeek, senior vice president of network planning and revenue management.
