Hawaiian Airlines Debuts Lilo & Stitch A330 Livery

Hawaiian Airlines has unveiled an Airbus A330 adorned in a vibrant new livery inspired by Disney’s beloved characters Lilo and Stitch, bringing island charm to the skies as part of a special partnership with Disney. The airline teamed up with Disney to celebrate the upcoming live-action adaptation of Lilo & Stitch, which premieres on May 23, 2025. This eye-catching Dreamliner design marks the first of three Hawaiian Airlines aircraft to feature artwork from the film, perfectly marrying Hawaiian hospitality with Disney storytelling.
The newly painted A330 showcases Lilo’s smiling face prominently on the fuselage, while the film’s title, “Lilo & Stitch,” stretches across the engines in bold lettering. Every detail reflects the playful spirit of the movie, from the vibrant color palette to the subtle nods to island landscapes woven into the background. Hawaiian Airlines says the spirited design embodies the airline’s mission to connect people with aloha and to extend genuine Hawaiian warmth to travelers on every flight.
Later this month, Hawaiian Airlines will reveal a second aircraft in the series: an Airbus A321 emblazoned with Stitch’s wildly creative artwork. That design will debut in the coming week, showcasing Stitch’s mischievous grin and iconic antenna against a backdrop of tropical motifs. In June 2025, the carrier will unveil the third installation on one of its Boeing 717 jets, completing the fleetwide rollout of Lilo & Stitch-themed aircraft. Each plane will offer passengers a glimpse of Disney magic before they even step onboard, creating excitement for both the flight experience and the new feature film.
As Hawaii’s homegrown carrier, Hawaiian Airlines prides itself on treating every guest as part of its extended ‘ohana, or family. The airline sees a clear connection between its core values and the themes of friendship and belonging central to Lilo & Stitch. Alisa Onishi, Director of Brand and Culture at Hawaiian Airlines, explained that the collaboration was driven by shared values around family ties and respect for one another. “At Hawaiian Airlines, Hawai‘i is our home, and we consider our guests to be our ‘ohana,’” Onishi said. “Our hope is that all who visit our islands feel welcomed from the moment they step onboard, just as Lilo welcomed Stitch.”
Beyond the striking exterior, Hawaiian Airlines is enhancing the passenger experience with technology and storytelling. Stitch has been named the airline’s new Travel Pono ambassador, featuring in an augmented reality experience accessible via the Hawaiian Airlines mobile app. Passengers can scan special decals on the aircraft to unlock interactive games and eco-friendly travel tips presented by Stitch himself. The mischievous character also stars in an exclusive in-flight video, learning valuable lessons about being a mindful visitor to the islands and showcasing local customs, language phrases, and natural landmarks.
This Disney partnership underscores Hawaiian Airlines’ commitment to innovative branding and guest engagement. By blending the beloved world of Lilo & Stitch with genuine Hawaiian hospitality, the airline aims to create memorable moments both on the ground and in the air. Travelers eager to experience the new livery and immersive AR features can book flights on the specially branded A330, A321, and Boeing 717 through Hawaiian Airlines’ website or their preferred travel agent. With charming Disney imagery, family-friendly entertainment, and authentic island hospitality, Hawaiian Airlines invites guests to embark on a journey filled with aloha spirit and animated delight.
