Hawaiian Airlines Launches New Flights with 787-9 Fleet in the Spring of 2024
Hawaiian Airlines has announced that it is now selling tickets for flights operated by its new fleet of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, which will debut in the spring of 2024. The airline has ordered 10 of the fuel-efficient and passenger-friendly aircraft, with an option for 10 more, to expand and renew its long-haul network.
The first route to feature the new aircraft will be the daily service between Honolulu (HNL) and San Francisco (SFO), starting from April 15, 2024. The second route will be the select flights between Honolulu (HNL) and Los Angeles (LAX), beginning on May 14, 2024. The third route will be the flights between Maui (OGG) and Los Angeles (LAX), commencing on May 15, 2024.
The new aircraft will offer a unique travel experience for passengers, as the airline has collaborated with a design consultant to create interior elements that “thoughtfully celebrate Polynesian navigators who sailed the Pacific by observing the stars, sun, winds, waves and wildlife”.
The aircraft will feature three classes of service: Leihōkū, meaning “lei of stars” in Hawaiian, which is a new premium class with enclosed suites and fully lie-flat seats; Extra Comfort, which offers more legroom and priority services; and Main Cabin, which has seats with plant life illustrations and electronically dimmable windows. All passengers will enjoy free in-flight entertainment, personal charging outlets, and a ceiling that mimics the open sky.
