Hawaiian Airlines is set to revolutionize travel to the US West Coast with the introduction of its latest fleet addition, the Boeing 787-9s, starting in March 2024. The airline recently showcased the stunning cabin interiors of these state-of-the-art aircraft, building excitement for the arrival of the first Dreamliner in November. The second 787-9 is scheduled to join the fleet just in time for revenue operations to commence in March.

By the end of 2024, Hawaiian Airlines plans to have four 787-9s in service, gradually introducing the remaining aircraft over the course of the next few years until 2027. With a two-cabin configuration, the planes will provide comfortable seating for 300 passengers. The configuration includes 34 luxurious business class seats and 266 economy class seats, among which are 79 “extra-comfort” seats offering passengers additional legroom and convenient access to AC outlets.

Deliveries of the Hawaiian Airlines 787-9s were originally slated for 2021 but faced delays due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and some assembly line issues related to the Boeing 787 production. However, Hawaiian Airlines remains committed to delivering an exceptional travel experience and is eager to bring these cutting-edge aircraft to its valued customers.

While the specific West Coast routes for the debut of the Boeing 787-9s in March have not been disclosed yet, Hawaiian Airlines currently serves a network of ten airports along the West Coast. These airports include Seattle Tacoma International, Portland International, San José, Oakland, Sacramento International, San Francisco, Ontario, Long Beach, Los Angeles International, and San Diego International. The busiest West Coast routes for Hawaiian Airlines are to Los Angeles, Sacramento, Seattle, Portland, and Oakland, respectively.

In addition to the West Coast services, Hawaiian Airlines plans to deploy the 787-9s on other long-haul routes once the initial operations on the US West Coast have been successfully established. Passengers can look forward to experiencing the exceptional comfort and service offered by these remarkable aircraft when traveling to a range of exciting destinations beyond the West Coast.
