Colorful Oranjestad Aruba

Why You Should Become an Aruba Certified Expert (ACE)
Travel advisors can gain a complete understanding of this exciting destination through the Aruba Certified Expert (ACE) program. This interactive learning tool from Travel Agent Academy will give advisors valuable insights into the destination as well as information on how to craft the ideal Aruba vacation. Included in the program is everything travel agents need, including information on accommodations, experiences and activities.

There are two programs from which to choose: the Aruba Certified Expert program with information for couples, families, active vacationers and pure beach relaxation lovers alike, and the Aruba Romance, ACE Program, which provides specific information those who wish to celebrate their love in the destination.

Benefits of Selling Aruba
There are many benefits to the ACE programs, including a downloadable graduate diploma, ACTA credits for Canadian advisors and Travel Institute credits for U.S. advisors, including three CEUs for the Expert Program and one CEU for the Romance Program. Graduates also receive on-island discounts at participating restaurants, activities and attractions as well as the opportunity for independent site inspection.

Graduates also can participate in an incentive rewards program and will receive Aruba product updates as well as sales support from regional ATA sales managers.

How the Program Works
Travel advisors enroll in the program at TravelAgentAcademy.com and complete a six-chapter course. An additional chapter includes the Romance ACE program. Once all chapters are complete, travel advisors receive a diploma showcasing their certification.

Get to Know Aruba
The first chapter covers the basics of the island of Aruba and an overview of the destination as a whole. It includes weather, information on the culture and the capital as well as key Dutch phrases.

Getting Out and About
The second lesson is focused on getting around Aruba. It discusses the many different ways visitors can choose to get to and around the island, including bus service, taxis and car rentals.

Who Is the Aruba Viaitor
This section focuses on the profile of the Aruba visitor, including the average makeup of visitors from the U.S., Canada and abroad as well as what are the primary target markets for travel advisors.

Where to Stay
Aruba has a wealth of accommodation options so it is important travel advisors learn which will be best for their clients. From all-inclusive hotels to private homes and villa rentals, travel advisors are spoiled for choice and this chapter helps them identify the right fit.

Things to Do
There are a ton of activities that clients can engage in during their visit to Aruba from historical and natural attractions to museums and cultural experiences. Chapter 5 teaches travel advisors what is available around the island to keep their clients busy on their vacations.

Niche Travel
In addition to sun and fun in general, there are a number of niche products available that agents can sell. Chapter 6 covers popular specialties such as family, romance, culinary, adventure, wellness and cultural travel.

Romance ACE
Travel advisors have the option of completing the Romance ACE section after they complete the first section. This section includes an introduction, information on proposals and options for bachelor and bachelorette celebrations. There are also chapters that contain information on destination weddings, honeymoons and vow renewals.
