Heron Aviation, based in Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg, is set to broaden its fleet by introducing its first narrowbody business airliner, a Boeing 737-500. This addition marks a significant expansion for the German operator, traditionally known for smaller business aircraft. The Boeing 737-500, revealed by Spanish private aircraft broker Welojets at a recent press briefing, will be configured to accommodate up to 90 passengers.

While Heron Aviation has remained tight-lipped about the specific aircraft’s identity, its fleet expansion strategy is clear. The company currently operates a diverse range of business jets, including one Embraer E145, one Cessna 560 Citation XLS+, two Spain-registered Cessna 510 Mustangs, one Cessna 525 Citation, one Cessna 525 Citation M2, and one Learjet 60. Adding to its impressive lineup, Heron recently welcomed a Falcon 8X into its fleet.

The new Boeing 737-500 aligns with Heron’s strategy to enhance its service offerings and increase its presence in the business aviation market. The company also maintains an operational base near Madrid Barajas Airport, underscoring its commitment to expanding its operational footprint.

This announcement coincided with Welojets presenting its first available Gulfstream G550, which will be operated by Gestair Private Jets in Madrid. This move by Welojets introduces another layer of sophistication to the business aviation sector in Spain, as the Gulfstream G550 joins the ranks of high-end business jets in the region.

Heron Aviation’s fleet enhancement with the Boeing 737-500 is poised to set new standards in the business jet sector, offering increased capacity and enhanced service options for its clientele.
