High-Speed Rail Project Between Las Vegas and Los Angeles Clears Hurdle
It’s getting closer and closer. What was once a dream is now inching closer to reality.
The high-speed railroad line between Las Vegas and Los Angeles is nearing groundbreaking. The $12 billion project that has been talked about for years recently passed a milestone.
The project has received environmental approval from the Federal Railroad Administration.
In addition, San Bernardino County in California received a $25 million grant from the federal government to go toward the project. The high-speed railroad will pass through San Bernardino County. The money is earmarked for a new railroad station in Hesperia and Apple Valley.
The high-speed train will have zero emissions and is said to cut the four-and-a-half-hour drive time from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in half.
Groundbreaking could start as early as the end of this year. The train is expected to bring passengers right to Las Vegas’ front door with a new railway station on the Strip.
