Hilton Hotel Brands to Treat Canine Guests with Complimentary Food on International Dog Day
In celebration of International Dog Day, arriving August 26, global hospitality leader Hilton and Mars Petcare are partnering to provide guests’ canine companions staying at its pet-friendly hotel brands a special surprise. Dogs staying at Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton, Tru, Homewood Suites, Home2 Suites and Embassy Suites hotels in the U.S. and select Toronto-area locations will receive free CESAR Canine Cuisine meals on Saturday, August 26, while supplies last.
With the approach of International Dog Day—or any day, really—it’s becoming increasingly evident that pet parents are eager to include their four-legged family members in their travel plans. In fact, Hilton’s recent research discover that over half of dog owners (56 percent) plan to travel with their pets in the next three to nine, and that 79 percent of pet owners are influenced by pet-related considerations when choosing their travel destinations. Which is why Hilton and its thousands of pet-friendly properties, partnered with Mars Petcare to make bringing Fido or Fluffy along on their trips more more welcoming and worry-free for doting pet parents.

Hilton’s partnership with Mars Petcare goes well beyond this observance of International Dog Day—a holiday founded in 2004 by dog trainer, animal rescue advocate and pet lifestyle expert Colleen Paige to honor man’s best friend. While staying at Hilton brands’ pet-friendly hotel locations, pet parents have access to a unique set of amenities, designed to make traveling with their fur-family as seamless as possible and provide extra peace of mind.
Together, Hilton and Mars Petcare are striving to set a new standard in pet-friendly travel. The Mars PET On-Demand service can connect guests directly with members of the Mars Pet Expert Team (PET), who stand ready to provide pet-related expert advice during their stay. Guidance obtainable through this service can be from behaviorists, nutritionists, vet techs or other pet-centric resources best suited to answering Hilton guests’ pet needs.
In addition, hotel staff at pet-friendly properties across the Hilton portfolio regularly provide guests with information on pet-friendly offerings in the area in which they’re staying, such as local dog parks, nearby 24-hour vets, pet stores and any pet-friendly restaurants in the vicinity. Many of these hotel locations also offer pet treats at the front desk, pet bowls for use during a stay, doggie waste bags and more.
