Hilton, a global leader in hospitality, has announced the expansion of its footprint in Mexico with the signing of two franchise agreements for the upcoming conversions of Perla La Paz and Tropicana Los Cabos into Tapestry Collection by Hilton properties. These two hotels, located in La Paz and San Jose del Cabo, are set to open in early 2024, marking the debut of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Baja California, Mexico.

Onirius Hospitality Advisors, serving as the principal advisor, has played a crucial role in the development and launch of both hotels. These additions reinforce Hilton’s commitment to growing its presence in Mexico, where it currently operates 90 hotels and has approximately 30 in the pipeline.

Mario Carbone, Hilton’s Managing Director of Development for Mexico and Central America, highlighted the importance of Mexico’s Pacific Coast in Hilton’s growth strategy. “Our expansion in Baja California with these two hotel conversions reflects our vision of introducing new brands in new destinations, enhancing our portfolio, and catering to our guests’ evolving needs,” he said.

Jenna Hackett, Brand Leader for Tapestry Collection by Hilton, shared her enthusiasm for the new properties. “Both Perla La Paz and Tropicana Los Cabos encapsulate the vibrant personality of their respective cities, offering guests authentic experiences as they explore Baja California,” she remarked.

Perla La Paz, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is a historic hotel known for its classic La Paz style. It recently underwent a $10 million renovation, retaining its Art Deco heritage while modernizing its amenities. Located in La Paz’s golden zone, the hotel features a pastel pink façade, outdoor terraces, and spacious remodeled rooms surrounding a courtyard. The property also includes a full-service restaurant, lounge, gym, spa, and a rooftop pool and bar.

Tropicana Los Cabos, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, situated near the heart of San Jose del Cabo, is set to provide guests with a quintessential Mexican colonial experience. The hotel’s design features traditional elements, including dark-wood beams and authentic Mexican artwork. The property boasts 70 rooms, including two suites, an onsite restaurant with a floor-to-ceiling glass bar, and various dining areas.

Luis Ruiz of Onirius Hospitality Advisors expressed his excitement about partnering with Hilton for these conversions. “We’re delighted to offer these unique experiences as part of Tapestry Collection by Hilton, enhancing the travel experience in La Paz and San Jose del Cabo,” he stated.

Both properties will participate in Hilton Honors, the award-winning guest-loyalty program. They join Hilton’s renowned Baja California portfolio, which includes Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal and Hilton Los Cabos, contributing to Hilton’s growing presence in the Caribbean and Latin America.

This expansion signifies Hilton’s continued investment in Mexico, offering diverse and culturally rich lodging options for travelers seeking unique and authentic experiences in Baja California.
