Holiday shopping head start could lift cargo carriers
Holiday shoppers buying and shipping early and more people buying gifts in stores could ease the holiday shipping crunch for cargo carriers like Atlas Air, FedEx and UPS, according to company officials and industry analysts. Early holiday deals offered this year mean “we don’t exceed capacity on the peakiest of days,” said Bill Seward, UPS president of world-wide sales and solutions. “It’s a win-win for everybody,” said Ryan Kelly, a marketing vice president at FedEx.
