Holland America Line is set to feature prominently in an upcoming episode of the popular culinary competition show, “Top Chef.” The episode, which airs on June 12 on Bravo and becomes available for streaming on June 13 on Peacock, was filmed on board the cruise line’s Eurodam ship. This marks the first time “Top Chef” has filmed a series finale in the Caribbean aboard a cruise ship, offering a unique backdrop for the final culinary showdown.

The show’s 21st season collaborates with Holland America Line to spotlight the cruise line’s esteemed global fresh fish program. Renowned Chef Masaharu Morimoto, who serves as the line’s fresh fish ambassador, appears in the episode, contributing his culinary expertise. The final four contestants will face the challenge of preparing an eight-course fish-tasting menu for the show’s judges and a panel of experts. The episode’s winner will be awarded $10,000 and a complimentary 10-day cruise to any of Holland America Line’s destinations.

Morimoto, known for his innovative and globally inspired dishes, also prepared a special meal for the contestants, featuring the Halibut XO—a dish he created specifically for Holland America Line and that guests can enjoy fleet-wide. Additionally, Morimoto has a namesake specialty restaurant on the Nieuw Amsterdam and conducts pop-up culinary experiences on other ships in the fleet.

Gus Antorcha, President of Holland America Line, emphasized the significance of this partnership: “We are highly focused on providing our guests with exceptional culinary experiences, and teaming up with Bravo’s ‘Top Chef’ is an incredible opportunity to not only bring attention to our global fresh de fish program but to give a glimpse into the unique cruising experience.”

Launched last year, Holland America Line’s global fresh fish program prides itself on sourcing seafood from a network of 60 ports worldwide. The program ensures that up to 80 different types of fresh fish are served to guests, from port to plate, in less than 48 hours, emphasizing the line’s commitment to freshness and quality.

This special “Top Chef” episode promises to be a thrilling fusion of travel, culture, and haute cuisine, showcasing Holland America Line’s dedication to culinary excellence and innovation on the high seas.
