Holland America Line’s McKinley Chalet Resort in Alaska has achieved certification from the Marine Stewardship Council, a prestigious recognition for seafood sustainability.

Located at the entrance of Denali National Park on the banks of the Nenana River, McKinley Chalet Resort offers new food and drink options at its two on-site restaurants, enhancing the experience for guests on Holland America Line’s Alaska cruisetours.

New menu items at Karstens Public House and Canyon Steakhouse include steamed mussels, smoked salmon chowder, seafood queso dip, and alder-grilled sockeye salmon. These additions highlight the resort’s commitment to serving sustainable and delicious seafood.

This summer, the resort also introduces several exciting features. Guests can enjoy Holland America Line’s exclusive De Lijn Gin, participate in weekly “Life in Denali” educational talks, and relax with drinks from a portable outdoor bar while listening to live music.

Earlier this year, Holland America Line achieved dual sustainable seafood certifications from the Marine Stewardship Council and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council. These certifications support the line’s global fresh fish program, which ensures fresh seafood is served from port to plate within 48 hours.

“We are proud to extend our promise of fresh, sustainable fish beyond our ships to our guests on cruisetours visiting Denali,” said Michael Stendebach, vice president of the food, beverage, and rooms division for Holland America Line. “Our culinary team at McKinley Chalet Resort has done a wonderful job furthering our industry-leading program with this certification and creating inspiring fresh seafood dishes in our restaurants.”

Holland America Line’s dedication to sustainability and culinary excellence ensures a memorable and environmentally responsible dining experience at McKinley Chalet Resort.
