The dual-branded Homewood Suites & Hilton Garden Inn in Jacksonville, Fla., has been acquired by an investment firm whose founder notes that $4 billion in new development is ongoing in the city’s downtown. Excel Group, based in Arlington, Va., bought seven hotels in 2021.
