Hotel Pegasus sign fix will cost Dallas taxpayers $358K

The Dallas City Council has approved using $358,000 in tax dollars to repair a damaged 30-ton Pegasus sign atop the Magnolia Hotel, with objections by several members that the hotel isn’t picking up part of the tab. City staff have warned that the 88-year-old icon could fall 29 stories to the street if its steel supports are not shored up.
