The Hotel Association of New York City is petitioning Mayor Eric Adams and the City Council to smooth the industry’s long road to recovery by slashing the hotel room tax from 5.875% to 2.875%. “We don’t want to wait until 2026 for a comeback,” said Councilwoman Amanda Farias, a key supporter.
