Hotels score big with Indiana-only basketball tourney
Nearly 3,000 rooms have been set aside by Indiana’s hotel industry to accommodate the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, which will be staged entirely in Indianapolis and nearby cities because of the pandemic. “The entire region will have a shot in the arm,” says Patrick Tamm, president and CEO of the Indiana Restaurant and Lodging Association, who notes that two-thirds of the state’s hotels are in danger of bankruptcy.
