Hotels seek $75M cut of Chicago’s COVID aid

The Illinois hotel industry is asking the city of Chicago for a $75 million share of federal pandemic relief funds to help get staff back to work and recovery up to speed. Meanwhile, hoteliers are optimistic that summer events in the city, particularly the Lollapalooza music festival, will dramatically raise occupancy that languishes at less than half 2019 levels.
