How AI and Data Are Transforming Tourism Experiences in 2025

Artificial intelligence and data analytics are reshaping the tourism industry, helping destinations improve operations, elevate guest experiences, and drive sustainable growth. From the U.S. to Europe, tourism boards are turning to these technologies to stay competitive and meet evolving traveler expectations.

In Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the Travel and Tourism Board partnered with Datafy to create a real-time dashboard that tracks key performance metrics such as visitor volume, transportation, and wildlife interactions. The tool helps balance tourism growth with environmental sustainability by offering transparent data access for local stakeholders and the public.

New York City is also innovating with AI. NYC Tourism + Conventions has introduced a first-of-its-kind AI-powered platform tailored to meetings and conventions. Developed with GuideGeek, the platform allows event planners to find venues, vendors, and experiences through AI-driven queries. Since its 2025 launch, the tool has increased website traffic by 100%, boosted newsletter sign-ups, and enhanced visitor engagement. It also supports 45 languages, which will be crucial for international events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, Visit Isle of Man has launched an innovation challenge to encourage developers to create AI tools that promote local businesses and improve accessibility. The island’s strategy focuses on brand storytelling, personalized visitor experiences, and simplifying direct bookings. AI is also helping small businesses reduce reliance on global OTAs and increase visibility.

These three destinations—Jackson Hole, NYC, and the Isle of Man—illustrate how AI and data can drive innovation, sustainability, and growth across the tourism industry.
