HX Bolsters American Operations with Key Leadership Appointments

HX, previously known as Hurtigruten Expeditions, is significantly enhancing its operations in the Americas with the strategic addition of four new team members. These appointments aim to fortify the expedition cruise line’s relationships with travel advisors, signaling a robust growth phase for the company.

The recent expansion includes the following appointments:

  1. Carla Brake as Senior Sales Director: With a wealth of experience in sales, Carla is set to lead the team with innovative strategies and deep industry insights.
  2. Jennifer Kennedy as Business Development Manager for the Southeast U.S.: Jennifer’s role focuses on cultivating and strengthening relationships with travel advisors in this key region.
  3. Kent Phillips as Business Development Manager for Western Canada: Bringing extensive knowledge of the Canadian market, Kent is poised to drive growth and partnerships in Western Canada.

Eastern Canada**: Ian’s expertise will be pivotal in expanding HX’s presence in Eastern Canada, working closely with travel advisors to promote expedition cruising.

Sheralyn Berry, General Manager for HX in the Americas, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion. “I am excited to announce the expansion of our team, a significant step in our commitment to building and nurturing long-lasting partnerships with the travel trade,” she said. Berry emphasized the crucial role that Ian, Carla, Kent, and Jennifer will play in supporting agents and advisors, contributing to the growth of the expedition cruise industry and promoting HX’s unique offerings.

This strengthening of the team aligns with HX’s strategic focus on the Americas. The new hires join an already robust team including Glenn Eastwood, Business Development Manager for the Northeast U.S.; Michael Weldon, Director of Sales and National Accounts; and Julia Swenda, Director of Host Accounts.

Further bolstering its leadership, HX recently announced the appointment of Alex Delamere-White as the permanent Chief Commercial Officer, following his impactful tenure as the interim CCO.
