HX, formerly known as Hurtigruten Expeditions, has announced its eagerly anticipated lineup of cruises for the 2026-27 season, marking the company’s 130th year of operations. The new itineraries will take travelers to stunning destinations including Antarctica, Alaska, Greenland, Norway, and the Galápagos Islands, offering unparalleled experiences in some of the world’s most breathtaking locales.
For a limited time, guests who book by November 11 can take advantage of a reduced deposit of just 15 percent on select HX voyages scheduled from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027. Additionally, HX loyalty members will enjoy an extra 5 percent off all sailings during this period, making it an ideal time to plan an adventure.
“These are the best destinations done better than ever,” says Alex McNeil, HX’s Chief Expedition Officer. “We’re building on over a century of maritime expertise by enhancing local partnerships and community-focused experiences, ensuring a lasting, positive impact wherever we go.”
A highlight of the upcoming season is the chance to witness the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026, during the “Solar Eclipse Expedition.” This unique itinerary will take guests to remote Arctic locations, including Svalbard, Greenland, and Iceland, providing an unforgettable viewing experience of this rare celestial event.
Starting in January 2026, HX will also launch a 7-night “Ultimate Norway” itinerary that will explore the Lyngen Alps, Lofoten Islands, Vesterålen, and Senja. Travelers will have the opportunity to experience the magic of polar nights and the aurora borealis above the Arctic Circle while embracing the Norwegian concept of friluftsliv, or “free air life.” For those looking for a festive adventure, an “Ultimate Norway at Christmas” voyage will be available in late 2026.
In Alaska, HX will introduce two new cruises: the 9-night “Fjords of the Great Land” itinerary and the 12-night “Where the Mountains Meet the Sea” voyage. These cruises will explore Alaska’s Inside Passage, showcasing the region’s stunning fjords and majestic landscapes.
HX will also launch a new 9-day “Explorer’s Route” voyage to the Antarctic Peninsula. This itinerary will offer travelers the chance to visit iconic destinations such as the South Shetland Islands, Antarctic Sound, Weddell Sea, Gerlache Strait, and Penola Strait. As the largest operator in Antarctica, HX promises an immersive and memorable experience in this pristine wilderness.
Additionally, travelers from the United Kingdom and Germany can look forward to new Europe and Svalbard cruises departing from Dover and Hamburg in the spring of 2027. These voyages will explore remote destinations like the Channel Islands, Isles of Scilly, the Dutch coastal town of Harlingen, and Germany’s Heligoland Island. On the Svalbard itineraries, guests will experience Norway’s stunning fjords before venturing into the Arctic.
“Each voyage is designed to change the way our guests see the world,” McNeil adds, emphasizing HX’s commitment to providing transformative travel experiences. With its rich history and innovative itineraries, HX is set to offer travelers unforgettable adventures in some of the planet’s most extraordinary destinations.
