Hyatt has appointed Tamara Lohan as interim global brand leader for its luxury collection and outlined a series of high-profile luxury hotel openings planned for 2026, revealed during the company’s presentation at ILTM Cannes.

Lohan joined Hyatt in 2023 following the acquisition of Mr & Mrs Smith, the luxury hotel platform she co-founded and led for more than 20 years. In her new role, she will oversee Hyatt’s global luxury brand strategy while focusing on enhancing guest experiences across the group’s growing luxury portfolio.

“Hyatt’s momentum in luxury continues to accelerate, powered by our insights-driven development strategy and commitment to delivering deeply resonant guest experiences,” said Hyatt president and chief executive officer Mark Hoplamazian. He added that Lohan’s leadership and luxury expertise will help further differentiate Hyatt’s brands while supporting targeted growth in key global markets.

Hyatt’s luxury portfolio now includes nearly 125 hotels and more than 21,000 rooms worldwide, spanning brands such as Park Hyatt, Alila, Miraval, Impression by Secrets, and The Unbound Collection by Hyatt.

Among the most notable openings, Miraval The Red Sea will become the brand’s first resort outside the United States. Located on Saudi Arabia’s Shura Island, the adults-only wellness retreat will feature 180 guestrooms and suites and is expected to house the largest spa in the Red Sea destination.

The Park Hyatt brand is set for significant expansion in 2026, including the reopening of Park Hyatt Tokyo and the debut of new properties in Cabo del Sol, Cancun, Mexico City, Vancouver, and Phu Quoc. Alila will add Alila Mayakoba in Mexico, while The Unbound Collection by Hyatt will expand its European footprint with Kennedy 89 in Frankfurt and a new coastal property in Nice.

“As we approach a new calendar year, ILTM Cannes serves not only as a moment to celebrate what we’ve accomplished in 2025, but as a powerful catalyst for what’s to come,” said Marc Jacheet, Hyatt’s group president for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
