Hyatt Plans Americas Hyatt Place, House Expansion

Hyatt Hotels Corp. plans to open 47 Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels across the Americas in 2022 and 2023, the company announced. Hyatt also said it would open its first Caption by Hyatt property this year.

The planned openings represent 9 percent of Hyatt’s global pipeline and would add 6,400 new rooms, as well as 16 new markets, to the company’s portfolio. While the thrust of the pipeline is in secondary and leisure markets, metro areas include Fort Worth, Texas; Houston; Toronto and Monterrey, Mexico.

Tucked into the pipeline is the brand debut and opening of the first Caption by Hyatt. Expected to launch in Memphis this year, Hyatt has positioned the property as an upscale select-service option.
