In a strategic move to bolster its growth and operational efficiency, Hyatt has unveiled a new organizational structure and senior leadership appointments within its Americas region, signaling a commitment to enhancing the customer experience and optimizing business performance. This development is especially significant for travelers and industry stakeholders keen on Hyatt’s innovative approach to hospitality management.

Enhanced Organizational Structure for Targeted Regional Support

The restructured Americas region now comprises two subregions: U.S. & Canada, and Latin America & the Caribbean (LAC), each led by newly appointed subregional presidents. This refined organizational framework is poised to provide more customized and regionalized support, driving intentional and sustainable growth across Hyatt’s extensive portfolio.

Leadership Appointments to Drive Growth and Optimization

Susan Santiago has been named President of the U.S. & Canada subregion, tasked with spearheading the growth and performance optimization of Hyatt’s owned and managed properties. With a remarkable 32-year tenure at Hyatt, Santiago’s extensive experience, particularly as Senior Vice President of Hyatt’s Lifestyle Division and Miraval brand, equips her well for this pivotal role.

Gabriel Felip takes on the role of President for the Latin America & Caribbean subregion, focusing on operational performance across all Hyatt brands in the area, including the Inclusive Collection. Felip’s three decades of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry, including his previous role as Hyatt’s Group President of Inclusive Collection Global Operations, make him an invaluable asset to Hyatt’s leadership team.

Supporting Roles to Reinforce Hyatt’s Strategic Vision

The new structure also introduces three critical roles aimed at enhancing operations, commercial services, and financial performance:

  • Yvette Martinez-Edwards is promoted to Senior Vice President, Field Operations, Luxury & Miraval, overseeing Hyatt’s managed luxury and Miraval hotel portfolio in the Americas.
  • Shyla Gardner rejoins Hyatt as Vice President, Commercial Services, Latin America & the Caribbean, tasked with leading a specialized commercial strategy for the LAC market.
  • Juan Pablo Puerta now serves as Senior Vice President, Finance, Latin America & the Caribbean, focusing on driving property performance optimization across the region.

A Strategic Move Towards Excellence and Growth

Pete Sears, Group President, Americas, expressed optimism about the restructured leadership’s potential to drive robust results through focused and sustainable regional growth. This strategic realignment is designed to position Hyatt as the preferred hospitality brand, delivering exceptional experiences for guests and yielding significant results for owners.

This organizational overhaul by Hyatt underscores its proactive approach to adapting to market dynamics and customer needs, reinforcing its status as a leader in the hospitality industry. The new leadership appointments and structural adjustments are a clear testament to Hyatt’s dedication to excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth within the Americas and beyond.
