Hyatt Hotels Corp. on Tuesday unveiled a new select-service brand, Hyatt Studios, marking the hotel company’s entrance into the upper-midscale sector within the Americas.

The Hyatt Studios brand was designed to accommodate both extended-stay and shorter length-of-stay leisure and business transient guests, depending on the region’s guest base and local market, according to Hyatt.

Hyatt claimed it had agreements to develop more than 100 Hyatt Studios properties and said it expected construction on the first property to begin this year, with the first opening in 2024. The company did not indicate where the first Hyatt Studios properties would open.

“We are proud to launch the Hyatt Studios brand and bring the high-quality experience and level of care promised by the Hyatt brand to smaller markets and submarkets where we don’t have Hyatt hotels,” Hyatt chief growth officer Jim Chu said.

Food and beverage options will include complimentary grab-and-go breakfast and a 24-hour market, according to the company.

Hyatt Studios adds to Hyatt’s portfolio of more than 20 brands and falls in with the company’s select-service properties, including Hyatt House, Hyatt Place and Caption by Hyatt.
