International Airlines Group (IAG) has taken significant steps to enhance its airlines’ long-haul fleets, addressing the rising demand for international flights. By converting options for six Boeing 787-10s and one Airbus A350-900 into confirmed orders, IAG ensures a stronger fleet for its subsidiaries, namely British Airways and Iberia.

According to Luis Gallego, IAG’s Chief Executive Officer, these cutting-edge aircraft will not only bring capacity back to pre-pandemic levels but also contribute to the company’s environmental goals. The advanced technology of these planes makes them highly fuel-efficient, aligning with IAG’s commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

In addition to the confirmed orders, IAG is expanding its long-haul fleet further by adding six more Boeing 787-10s. These newly included aircraft will be part of British Airways’ order book.

Anticipated delivery for all these aircraft is scheduled between 2025 and 2026, signaling IAG’s dedication to optimizing its fleets to meet the growing demand for long-haul flights.
