India and U.S. Investigators to Review Air India Crash Data

Indian and U.S. investigators are set to meet next week to review data collected from the deadly Air India crash in June, according to a Bloomberg News report on Saturday Dec. 6. A team from India will travel to Washington, D.C., where the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will host the discussions.
Indian investigators are expected to share their findings, including information recovered from the aircraft’s cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder, Bloomberg said, citing people familiar with the matter. Reuters was not immediately able to verify the report.
The meeting will take place at NTSB headquarters, with representatives from other involved parties — including Boeing — also scheduled to attend. When contacted by Reuters, Boeing referred inquiries to India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB). The NTSB, India’s civil aviation ministry, and the AAIB did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, operating a flight from Ahmedabad to London, began losing thrust and altitude shortly after takeoff. All but one of the 242 passengers and crew on board were killed, and an additional 19 people on the ground also lost their lives.
